Fernand Jeanneau was born in Brittany and spent most of his life depicting scenes from his home town of Quimper. A pupil of the Ecole de Pont-Aven, he was a member of the Societe Lorientaise des Beaux Arts and exhibited in Paris at the Salon des indepentants from 1925. He travelled to Tunisia in 1927 and won a prize at the Paris International Exhibition of 1937.
