Marcelle Bonnet was born in Paris towards the end of the ninteenth century and became a pupil at the celebrated art school run by Jean-Paul Laurens, as well as studying under Henri Royer and Louis Roger. She is recorded as having exhibited both landscapes and still-lifes at the Salon between 1912-35, and again at the Société Nationale des Beaux Arts between 1938-40.
